How to select: choose a pom heavy for its size as those have the juiciest seeds. Avoid fruit with bruises or brown spots. It should be dark red and leathery looking.
How to eat: Slice off the top of the pomegranate, cut into quarters and remove the seeds from the pith inside. It can be very messy as the juice tends to squirt when the pom is cut, be careful not to stain clothes.
Suggestions: Pomegranate seeds (airils) are good on their own or put into a variety of dishes. Sprinkle some into your oatmeal, cold cereal or on top of salads. The juice is a tasty treat as well and can be used many ways, in marinades, cocktails, salad dressings.
Tate’s take: I love this fruit! I think its like fruit and granola mixed together because of the crunch. I cant wait to try it on top of yogurt or in my cereal bowl. Its a lot of work to get the seeds out, especially when trying not to get juice everywhere but the yummy fruit is worth it, and full of good for you vitamins.
